As our school community grows and develops and continues to improve, we have been gaining attention both nationally and internationally. During 2014 -2015 so far, we have hosted visits from:
- a team of seven educational leaders from the Education Department of Oslo in Norway, who visited the school in November 2014 to look at teacher learning and Rights Respecting Schools.
- a team of five educational leaders, followed by a group of thirteen senior teaching leaders from Gothenburg in Sweden, who joined us for two days in January. The visits looked at a wide range of aspects of our work at Highlands, including school leadership, pupil learning, teacher learning, support staff learning and Rights Respecting Schools.
- an editor of an education sector magazine in Norway who looked at various aspects of the school, and interviewed the Headteacher for an article focussing school leadership.
In previous school years, we were delighted to welcome visitors from Denmark, Holland, Japan and Colombia.
We look forward to developing these links into collaborative partnerships.
