At Highlands Primary School, we want to ensure our children have an awareness of the beliefs and cultures within and beyond their school community. We would like for children to develop fundamental skills that will support their analysis and response to various questions posed by religion. RE is a central subject for us as it encourages our children to develop their very own sense of identity and belonging. Therefore, it is of high importance as it is very essential to children beyond their school lives. London Borough of Redbridge is a multi-cultured area and it is important that our children develop respect and appreciation for diversity all around us. Our mission is to encourage curiosity amongst all children and broaden their horizons and to make sure that children understand the relevance of RE in today’s modern world and how it affects our lives.
