Timetable Notes:

The above timetable is an example timetable for the children’s week. This timetable does not need to be followed rigidly but gives families and children a rough guide as to how days could be structured. Breaks and other activities can be factored in to any part of the timetable.

Reading: This would include individual reading from a wide range of texts including cooking books, age appropriate comics, instructions for games, leaflets, appropriate newspapers etc

The most important aspect is Reading for Enjoyment.

Handwriting: Correct letter formation and taught joins. The children should do handwriting daily. We have uploaded spelling and handwriting sheets on the website.

Spellings: Children can practice spellings for all of the high frequency words and common exception words They can also write these in sentences .

Maths: During Maths children can complete activities in their booklets or use the school website to revise/learn topics. Families also have free access to Twinkl a website which can be used to access questions and worksheets. Additionally on the school website in the Year 2 Page there are a list of activities and websites for the children to access.

PE/Movement Break: Here the children need to use this time to be active. The could take part in the Joe Wicks online PE lesson or play an active game with a family member. Children could also access the resources on the Highlands website for example go Noodle.

Topic/Project Work: Children can spend time here working through the activities on the front of the home learning pack. Or they can use the whole school projects that are put on the website each week.

Creative Time: How creative can you be? You may wish to make a poster, write a song or do some drawing. You may also wish to use this time to do some mindfulness activities such a peace out which can be found on Youtube.

Daily Recap: Can you share with your family what you have learnt today? What did you enjoy? What did you find difficult? Remember you can email your teacher to show them your work at any time!
