Video Conferencing

What is Video Conferencing?

This is where two or more locations communicate by simultaneous two-way (or more) video and audio transmissions.  Using a direct link means that we can see and talk to people anywhere in the world in “real time” using the computer or whiteboard screen to have a conversation as if we were in the same room.

Our staff and children regularly participate in video conferences, please click the link below to find out about the latest VCs at school.

Working Collaboratively

Highlands is part of the Redbridge Video Conference  group.  This group consists of 18 Primary and Secondary Redbridge schools and the aim is to work together to promote the use of Video Conferencing in our schools.   This group is led by Mina Patel, who is a member of the UK Videoconferencing  Partnerships Group.  More information about video conferencing can be found on Mina’s Learning blog:-

All video conferencing at Highlands is closely supervised and carried out using specialist video conference equipment.  All connections are made through a secure link via JANET Videoconferencing Services. To find out more about JANET click on the link below.
